We, the UNPP, believe that in order to insure the future of Sierra Leone, that a change in the political climate is needed.. Diamonds have long been thought to be the future of Sierra Leone.. We believe that our young people are the future of Sierra Leone, but we need to provide them a chance to be empowered through education, training, and job opportunity.. When the diamonds are gone and without a plan for the future, will Sierra Leone become a country of beggars living off the proceeds from foreign aid ??
Our Vision for a new Sierra Leone
We, the UNPP, will bring in credible investors to create new industries and more important, new jobs for our citizens.. We will place new emphasis on both the agricultural and fishing industries, both to provide food for our people, new jobs, and export opportunities for trade.. We will look at the conversion of palm oil into bio-diesel to run public transportation and electrical power generators so that all Leoneans can have electrical power without outages. We will look at alternative power sources such as wind, wave, hydroelectric, and solar to provide clean power to meet our country's electrical needs.. In order for Sierra Leone to grow and prosper, we need to provide the infrastructure (roads, electrical, water) to encourage and promote trade, new business, and opportunity for all Sierra Leoneans.. We will provide water purification systems so that all Sierra Leoneans can once again drink without fear.. We will clean up the trash on the streets of Freetown, so that our capital can once again be a city that we can be proud of..
